Meach Hurt vs Cards? We are signing a WR??
 

Mentioned on NOLA.com Apparently we need Deuce's roster spot to bring in a WR. Meach is questionable for the Vikes games. DAMNIT!

Apparently the Saints needed his roster spot to sign a receiver because of the uncertainty of Robert Meachem's ankle injury. So McAllister decided that last week's cameo with the Saints would be a good note to end his career on.

Arrington from PS?

UPDATE 1: WWL reports that Meachem's MRI, as well as Shockey's, came back negative today, and both will play on Sunday.

UPDATE 2: ROTO is now reporting AA will be brought up from the PS and Meach status in up in the air.

Roto is reporting that its Meach that is questionable. The hell man?!

According to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Deuce McAllister will announce his retirement from football Tuesday.
McAllister is said to be 30 pounds over his playing weight, and he admits that another knee surgery would likely be required to play again. The Saints can no longer afford to use a roster spot on Deuce with Robert Meachem (ankle) questionable for this week's game against the Vikings. The local hero will continue to serve as honorary captain. He retires as the Saints all-time leading rusher and touchdown scorer.

I remember them saying they had to tape Meach's ankle...damn who could we sign..I mean Colston...Henderon ..Moore and put Reggie in there as a reciever would work...we would be ok...

Payton said it was on the play that he ran out of his shoe. He came back in and played some more.

I doubt its anything serious. They're probably just being cautious.

Hi Mathius to answer your question, rod harper was put on IR before the start of the season with a fractured foot. I know what ya mean i loved to watch him play, taking punts back week in and week out

I remember that play. That was 6 points if he hadn't lost his shoe. Meach had his man beat but Brees overthrew him because Meach lost stride when he lost his shoe.

yea i remember meach running out of his shoe. He came back in later and then limped off the field. I'd bet he plays, but with Deuce gone we might as well pick up someone. If they think AA can help then bring him in. He seems the logical choice. If anything he should atleast know the playbook

I agree with the Arrington choice. He is young, healthy, FAST, and he knows the play book in and out. Looked great in pre season. Sign him up. He could turn out to be our version of Tyree. :)

Meachem "tweaked" his ankle against the Cardinals, and Sean Payton has been as tight-lipped as ever about the injury. The Saints are expected to use Deuce McAllister's roster spot to promote Adrian Arrington from the practice squad for depth. Check back Wednesday afternoon for a report on Meachem's practice participation.
