NFL.Com has the saints #9 in their power ratings. With Green Bay and Tampa Bay ahead. Didnt we beat both of those teams? What a joke!

Here's looking at you, Jerry Rice and the Oakland Raiders.
1. Oakland (4-0; last week: 3) … Even the Bills couldn't keep up with the masters of track-meet football.

2. Denver (4-1; last week: 6) … After bouncing back strong against the Chargers, the Broncos can make an even stronger statement by knocking off Miami.

3. Miami (4-1; last week: 5) … Ricky Williams took his turn trampling the Patriots' run defense, but the going should be much tougher in Denver.

4. Green Bay (4-1; last week: 7) … Brett Favre looks as unstoppable as ever.

5. Tampa Bay (4-1; last week: 8) … You hire an offensive genius as your coach, and your defense becomes more dominant. Go figure.

6. Philadelphia (3-2; last week: 2) … Donovan McNabb can't do it all by himself.

7. San Diego (4-1; last week: 1) … The Chargers need to get healthy on defense, and fast.

8. San Francisco (3-1; last week: unranked) … Nothing like a few hours on the St. Louis Rams' punching bag to help boost a team's confidence, but the 49ers had better not take the Seahawks lightly.

9. New Orleans (4-1; last week: 10) ... The Saints keep living, and winning, on the edge.

10. Kansas City (3-2; last week: unranked) … In any other division, their performance would seem a lot more impressive.

11. Jacksonville (3-1; last week: unranked) … The Jags have their snarl again, and that does not bode well for Tennessee.

12. New York Giants (3-2; last week: unranked) … The Giants' offense gets in gear, but are they healthy enough to keep it going?

My favorite is Oakland at #1 .

Gruden was the genius ???? His defense is saving his butt in Tampa .

Who cares how we rank and by who? I could care less what those guys think. Wanna know how we rank? Wait till the last game of the year we get to play. If we have a Super Bowl ring, we\'re nmber 1. If not it doesn\'t really matter where we finish. Winning is everything.

That\'s true but I still like to see the Saints name up in lights. In the end the only stat that matters is how many games we win and if one of those games is in Sandiego in January

The way the saints are looked over, the Rams might be ahead of us after beating Oakland. However if the Saints can handle the 49ers..and I believe so.....We should start to get a little respect. The defeated playoff teams are starting to stackup

Tampa
Green Bay
Chicago
Pittsburgh

Both Tampa and Green Bay have only one loss (to The Saints) With Oaklands loss we should be up there but you know we won\'t because the so called experts still think of us as the old Aint\'s...That is until we win that bowl ..Then we\'ll be the SuperSaints.....

I think the analysts have us pegged correctly. The Saints are a good team... BUT... thus far our defense has not been good. NFL.com has our defense listed as 23rd in the league. We give away points on both sides of the ball consistently, and we always seem like we\'re one big play or turnover away from total breakdown.

Our offense is also not nearly as high powered as Saints fans may believe it to be. It is certainly a great Saints offense, but that doesn\'t make it a great offense, period. I think we\'re 14th in offense - that makes us just better than average. So now we\'re talking about a team whose offense is basically average and whose defense is towards the bottom of the league. I\'d say #9 is pretty accurate.

There are two differences between this year\'s Saints and every other Saints team before it. 1 - this year\'s team wins with offense, not defense. 2 - this year\'s team seems to find a way to win, whereas prior teams seemed to find a way to lose.

I really dont see a all around great team in the league this year. The eagles have question marks as do the raiders. Tampa lost to New Orleans as has Green Bay. The Saints have played and beat more good teams than anyone in the league. I understand what you are saying about the offense and defense, but you can say that about all teams this year.

Heads up. Latest power rankings from NFL.com have the Saints at #8 now, and Tom Jackson at ESPN has us at #2 behind Miami. Also ESPN ran a big spread on The Saints with a few stories highlighting Aaron, the defense, Michael Lewis and Hazlett. Looks like the \"experts\" are starting to notice the Saints. Funny ain\'t it.
