Re: GO FREAKIN' GET IT!!!!
FWIW, back in 2005 ESPN did a piece on Drew Brees on their Sunday Morning Countdown pre-game show. They identified Brees as the only other quarterback other than Peyton Manning (at that time) who had the level of experience and competence to call the offense from under center. For Marty Schottenheimer to have that level of confidence in any player speaks volumes about Drew's ability as a field general.
The perceived knock on Drew has always been his size and his arm strength, but I've seen Drew make pinpoint passes and arc some deep bullets with both the Chargers and the Saints, so all of that is just talk. And even if it was true, a strong arm and prototypical size has not saved the careers of Jamarcus Russell, Jeff George, or Ryan (oh, the pain) Leaf to name a few. There has to be an added correlation of grey matter and toughness to go along with rocket arm and laser passing. |

Had they changed their name and let Baltimore have everything back having to do with the Colts, I'd respect that but that's not what happened. I don't know why Houston didn't do the same thing with the Oilers but that's their decision. As for the Chargers, they got the green light to move forward on a new stadium in Downtown San Diego. Hopefully, that works out. |

Re: GO FREAKIN' GET IT!!!!
I think that Houston couldn't use the same color scheme because Tenn stole it from them. Then after that they put the team name to a vote in Houston. The people spoke that it should be "Texans". Which doesn't speak highly of Houstonians since that is the worst team name in the entire World and Mars.

Though you're probably right. Bud Adams probably wouldn't let them have the colors, name and heritage back even if they wanted it. That's sh*tty!!! Same goes for Jim "The Drunk" Irsay. He didn't care where he was as long as he had a bottle in his hand!!! A Beautiful thing... he used May Flower moving vans to move the Colts out of Baltimore at 2:00 am in a blizzard. A local rock station called "98 Rock" in Baltimore sent May Flower moving vans to his funeral. |

For the life of me, I can't understand how someone wouldn't be over to get over that in 25 years. Must be a pretty sad life to stay that bitter. |

As for the 25 year thing... it wouldn't be any different in a REAL football city if the same thing happened. Though if the Ponies ever leave Indianapolis, it won't matter. Their fake fans will just jump another band wagon. You are the Backstreet Boys of NFL!!! Johnny Unitas was a REAL quarterback and his monument is in Baltimore. But most important of all... My Chargers own the ponies!!! |
