Have any of you ever played football?

I think that Drew Brees is doing quite well, even as the skillset improves as each competitor comes along. What you may be failing to consider is the OPPOSITION gets stiffer, the logistics get far more difficult.

The dude got you to the Super Bowl. Try not to whine.

control yourself

we are in the super bowl but you are still a little heated....understandable considering the complete lack of respect we are still getting

but we are all saints fans here.....there is a reason we all come here on a daily basis to talk about our favorite team

sit back relax....drink a little more jesus juice and look forward to the super bowl

I agree Strato. Drew knew that he had to do the right thing to get the win. He didn't want to be the reason the Saints didn't go to the Super Bowl. This win was more intense and stressful than the Super Bowl. Now he can let it fly because his team is GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!

Im glad someone else seems to know about football and our players mentality..if you watch our players they will tell you with their eyes and body language...Drew is a very high strung guy..and it showed at times yesterday...now the pressure is off.. your so right about that he can relax and play like we know he can..

I didn't see a lot of outright drops, except for Reggie's on that throw to the left flat. Colston *lost* a couple of balls because the defender knocked it out of his hands, but that's not the same as a "drop." Our guys were covered tight all night. Devery and Meach bobbled balls but ended up catching them. Drew definitely overthrew an open Meach in the middle on one play and Thomas on another (the play that garnered the PI call), but on the play to Thomas he was scrambling for his life and just trying to make something happen. Drew did not have his best game, but he did throw 3 TDs and no INTs, whereas Favre's INTs helped bury his team. Hopefully, he will be rested and sharp as a razor for the SB. We're going to need Drew's absolute best game to beat the Colts.

The Vikings defense is formidable. The recievers were covered and and they got good pressure. Give the Vikings credit.
They are numerous threads about how ****** off people are about the media not giving us credit for winning. Let's not become what we hate.

He also overthrew Shockey, but that might have been because Shockey wasn't as fast as he normally is. Drew also BADLY underthrew Colston on one play and it was a sure INT, but a Vikes defender (an LB, I think) tried for the pick and wound up preventing the throw from hitting the DB in the stomach.

There is something not quite right.

Re: Brees?

I think it was Aikman who said during the game that he thought Drew wasn't "throwing the ball with authority." Sure enough, watching him after that, his throws looked a little wobbly (by his standards of course). He was still moving well and making good decisions, but his downfield throws were only average where he is usually outstanding in that dept.

Aikman also speculated that he might have had some kind of hand injury or something. If anyone knows about throwing accuracy, it should be Troy Aikman.

Exactly. Even he thought something was a bit off.

And yes, I've played football before. Has nothing to do with my eyes. I can tell the difference between putting yourself into a throw and pushing the pass, and it just seemed like he was doing that a lot. Even a few times during the Arizona game. And not saying he's awful. Brees is insane. But he just didn't seem to be throwing with a lot of authority. Over threw more passes than I've seen him do before. Could be nerves. Won't dispute that. But I know I wasn't the only one noticing something different.

My brother is a kool aid drinker. Ha ha. He's hard core about the Saints. I think his name on here is savant. We are different types of fans, I guess. I have the habit of when even though we win, I think we should have done something better. Should have scored a TD on that drive. Needed to be more consistent in the running game. He will just tell me to enjoy the game and I'm too critical. But that's usually during the game. Once he cools down by like monday or tuesday, he usually says "Yeah. You have a point. But....." Ha ha ha.
