Re: Who Was the MVP?
The fact that too many players come to mind when you're lookin' for an MVP is a great thing! I think the entire team effort was outstanding, and I applaud the whole team for sticking together and playing with one goal in site!

Re: Who Was the MVP?
My game ball goes to the WHOLE TEAM!!! I thought they all played well and picked each other up! Each of those choices would be good individually, but we had clutch plays when needed. WHO DAT

Re: Who Was the MVP?
I had to go with co-MVP's in this game. Pierre and Hartley. I voted Pierre, but there is no way I could not mention Hartley after making the biggest kick in Saints' history. Pierre was solid with 130+ all purpose yards and two scores.

I agree with D it Up

Re: Who Was the MVP?
in afterthought, I think you have to put McCray on that list of possible MVP's. McCray brought the wood on Favre. I don't think we would have gotten that kind of physical play and damage on Favre if Grant was in there. Bobby McCray nearly took Favre out of the game and I definitely think all those hits on Favre had an impact on the outcome of this game.

Re: Who Was the MVP?
i would have to say the 2:00 min warning on in was really the most exciting part of the game. Ill have to give it up to tomas moorestead! this game was a battle for field position and moorestead did his job.

Re: Who Was the MVP?
I have not read all the posts in this thread, and this has probably been said. I voted for Hartley, but the MVP could have been any one on the team. What we saw yesterday was a true team effort. Sure, there were some big plays made, but the team as a whole, offense, defense and special teams all had an equal share in this victory. Without terrific plays from all, the game is lost. So my game ball goes not to one player, but to the whole team. It will be the same in two weeks, everyone will come to play 110%.

Re: Who Was the MVP?
the biggest reason we won this game is because of the turnovers
but the reason we got so many opportunities to create turnovers is because morstead put the nail in the coffin corner on his punts morstead is arguably our best punter ever and its only his first season.....he was easily our best draft pick this year and he was probably one of the most hated because of the 2 picks we actually used to trade up and pick him |

Re: Who Was the MVP?
Too tough to name just 1. Morstead, Hartley, Vilma, Porter, don't forget Fujita recovering the fumble on our own 9 yardline right before halftime that would have given the Vikings the lead. PT with that first TD run after the catch and his big return to start OT after Roby is injuried. Just too many to name just 1 or even 2.

i liked the pick but not trading another pick to move up and get him.....not only were people upset about the pick, but about getting rid of extra picks to get him Quote:
only once did they have a short field and thats when we punted from our own endzone morstead did a great job dropping punts inside the 20 he punted 7 times on sunday and dropped 4 of them inside the 20.....had 0 touchbacks and only 3 punts were returned for only 15 yards including 1 that was only returned to the 10 yardline also almost all of his kickoffs were touchbacks....i remember more often than not, percy harvin and chester taylor were running backwards to try and make the catch in the back of the endzone |

Maybe it should be Brad Childress for his great calls in the last minute and 12 men penalty and his teams lack of discipline. I think it's the Saints defense, as they caused all those fumbles and int's, and beat the **** out of Favre. I know you said MVP, as in player, but I guess the kicker is as good as any, since he didn't choke like many of the other kickers *cough*Kaeding* cough did. I think my favorite teams MVP was Peyton Manning:doh: with a close second by Pierre Garcon |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
I think the MVP was the 12th Man.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
I went with Thomas, his running was inspired, especially that td run. Second place would HAVE to be Porter. That interception, saved the game for us. He misses that pick, and Vikings kick the field goal. So I would actually have to call a tie between those two.

Re: Who Was the MVP?
i am a die hard Saints i am glad we won the game! However, we got away with some very questionable calls by the refs!

he played well but his biggest isssue coming out of college was his ability to tackle in the open field...... had he stopped berrian we wouldnt have had to go into overtime |

Re: Who Was the MVP?
I'll have to go with Choupique on this one. Without the 12th man in the huddle there would have been no farve pass, no interception.

But I have to point out, that Porter wasn't the only one missing tackles in this game. It looked like they went to the Mike McKenzie School of Arm Tackling. |
