Who Was the MVP?
Who was the most valuable player in the NFC Championship Game?
So often this year the answer is Drew Brees. Who was it tonight? |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hartley..without that kick we dont know waht happens..he ended it
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hartley. Media beat him up all week and he nailed it.
That kick would have been good from 55 yards. Right down the middle and waaaaaaaaay over the goal. |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hartley, Brunell and dam I forget the long snapper name. I'll be back.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Pierre Thomas ran well against a team we were not supposed to be able to run against. He carried a huge load.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Vilma without a doubt .... the kick does not happen without his awesome play!
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
hartley definitly, but i have to say the corners were outstanding nonite, farve put the dam ball right where it had to be on those catchs. i love our future also
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Adrian Peterson. Without those fumbles, the Saints don't win.
by the way, Congratulations. |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
PT
His stats don't show it, but he was money all day. |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Tracy. Without a doubt his int saved our ass
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
no stars tonite, that's why it was a great win
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Theres so many to name..but that kick made me cry..so i have to say Hartley...
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Vilma!
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
I think it is a tough choice. Lots of guys played well, no one really put the game on his shoulders and took over. I would not argue against any of the guys on the list.
I say Pierre Thomas. After the Vikes scored we needed an answer and he had that great move on that touchdown. Then the TD to get the lead in the third. And also it was him over the top on the 4th and 1 in OT to keep the drive alive so Hartley could eventually make the kick. But really everyone on the list (and everyone else). It was definitely a team win! |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hartley -- That kick wa BIG! real BIG!
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hartley was getting beat up in the media all week, so it was espeically great to see him shut them all the heck up.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hartley and Vilma..
OMG Amazing!! |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
pt
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
really? no love for drew? 3 TD passes is what we've come to expect i guess
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
more people picked pierre thomas who ran for only 60 yards
the only one who maybe deserves it more is garrett hartley people may say that drew's low completion rate drops him out of consideration.....but what about the ridiculous amount of dropped balls we had today......NOT DREW'S FAULT.....if you hit a receiver in the hands he needs to catch the ball |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
He was off some to though Brees that is ...i think it was jitters..he is better than that
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
I think it say a lot about the rest of this team when Brees and his WR's play their C-game and we still win.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Vilma. He's the man!
OK, maybe PT. |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
All of the choices are good but, with the way the Vikings D was stopping us, I'll give it to Morstead!
|

Re: Who Was the MVP?
This was a team win. Came up big when we needed to. D with turnovers. Offense answering points. Special teams on punting and kickoff returns and FG to win. Everyone had a play or part that mattered.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
thomas moorstead was my mvp
special teams 101 in shutting down a hot returner never let him have the damn ball lol :) |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
I'd say our DL as a whole for teh beating they gave Favre. Those 15 yards McCray got was a BS call, Favre was faking and you teach your end to always play Boootleg, Counter, Reverse. Hargrove driving Favre into the ground was a thing of beauty.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Pierre was a beast last night. Without that return to open OT Hartley probably doesnt get the chance to be a hero. They werent really moving the ball at all in the second half.

Brett Farve and Adrian Peterson. Thanks!
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Ball on the ground ..Ball on the ground...lol
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Most Valuable Player: Vilma/Hartley. (Our O did not exactly preform to its expectation)
Most Valuable Participant: The New Orleans Saints Fan! (with out the noise, it would have been a different game).... We bring the Pain! |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
jermon bushrod?
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Hey Guys. You can't give MVP to Hartley. Great FG and all. But just on the kicking side, Morstead was more influential than Hartley.
Then the horse that is Pierre. e.g. His work for his 1st TD was enormous. His overall stats: 61 yards rushing on only 14 carries with a long of 12 and 38 yards receiving and 40 yard kickoff return in OT Edits |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
Too much of a team effort for me to go with just one player. Vilma played lights out, Porter had the big Int in the 4th quarter, Brees managed the game well, Reggie had a couple of good plays, the defensive line was all over Brett Favre, Hartley was cold blooded.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
There many that contributed and not to take anything away from Hartley's kick that put us in the Super Bowl . . . I think that alot of credit goes to the best draft pick that we had this year . . . Thomas Morestead. Without those kicks that kept Harvin on one knee in the end zone and fair catching all nite I think things could have been a lot different. So my vote is for Morestead!
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
I have to give it to PT. Very tough running against a physical team.
Think about it, PT was undrafted, on the practice squad that first year. Then he stayed on the team, surviving cut after cut, because of his kick return ability. If not for that, we never would have found out what he could do at tailback. So fitting that, due to Roby's injury, we got to see him return that kickoff in OT, and he didn't disappoint. |
Re: Who Was the MVP?
i was kind of thinking o-line. i think they only allowed one sack, gave pierre some holes, and there was some good down field blocking as well. plus it was against a really good front four.
|
Re: Who Was the MVP?
the TEAM..plus GREG WILLIMS
