Schedule for Upcoming Week.

New Orleans Saints injury, schedule updates

By Mike Triplett, The Times-Picayune

January 25, 2010, 2:10PM

We just got done meeting with Coach Sean Payton and a handful of players, so stay tuned for updates throughout the day.
Payton gave an injury update. He said kickoff returner Courtney Roby "dinged" his knee and tailback Lynell Hamilton injured his ankle during Sunday's 31-28 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings. But he said he didn't think either injury was serious. He said tight end Jeremy Shockey is "making progress" with his knee injury after being limited on Sunday. And he said cornerback Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring) should be in good shape in another two weeks after being inactive on Sunday.
The Saints were allowed to come in late for work on Monday, but they still had to do their usual running and lifting on the day after the game, much to the chagrin of some sleep-devried players who are still running on adrenaline.
They'll be off Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to practice Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The six Pro Bowl players will travel to Miami on Sunday, then the rest of the team will join them on Monday.

"May God have mercy on those who doubted his Saints."

I had assumed our guys wouldn't be playing in the probowl. Am I wrong about that? Doesn't that seem risky?

They won't be playing. The players on the two Super Bowl teams just show up to be honored and collect their checks.

I like the fact the guys are already back in the weight room. The Colts have said they are going to prepare this week as if they were playing on Sunday. We better do the same.
