When you have a stable of thoroughbreds you can pick which horse you race. The hot hand from practices and games over the preceding weeks is the curve. Pierre Thomas had earned the spot, mostly.
Just look at how he was carving up their D on some of those runs for the answer to your question. Remember the game during the regular season when Coach P put Mike Bell in fresh after the first half and he ran like a madman with a chip on his shoulder? Just wait. |

Re: Where was Mike Bell
I thought I saw Mike Bell on the Special Teams unit when either Roby or Pierre went for the kickoff return.
Not 100% on that, though. |

Re: Where was Mike Bell
For sure Lance Moore had one catch early on, but that is all I saw of him. I never saw Bell in there, and my hubby did ask about him. Good to know we WILL have fresh legs in the game!

Re: Where was Mike Bell
Situational decisions is the answer to these questions. No doghouse.
It was in the newspaper today... Coach P made decisions based on what he needed at the time in the game... and Pierre is ahead on the depth chart... Pierre clearly proved that it was a wise choice by our Coach, imho. Just like during the regular season, Coach P eventually admitted he was sparingly using Reg-gie! to keep him healthy for the playoffs when they'll really need his explosiveness. The good news is Bell has a bigger chip on his shoulders about running now that he didn't get to play and he'll be a gazillion % healthy. HUGE hidden X factor! I surely wouldn't want to attempt to tackle that dude. He rings Bells. |

Re: Where was Mike Bell
I read a quote from SP NOLA.com that he wanted to give Bell more carries but he didn't get to with how the game unfolded.

Re: Where was Mike Bell
Tough to run against the Vikes I think the whole game plan changed midstream. Although PT still was pretty steady, I also think they were waiting for Reggie to break one out.
