GATOR BITES (1st Half Summary)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Seems like form the \'text\' cast, that Houston is playing better. They are rushing for 5 or 6 yards a crack. I know 2 min drill might account for some of it, but from a non video feed it doesn\'t ...

GATOR BITES (1st Half Summary)

Do you think that Brooks has mailed it in already? He has no enthusiasm, and I\'m sure that Horn and McAllister are not the only ones getting open. Very frustarating offensively. The Defense looks pretty good though.

GATOR BITES (1st Half Summary)

Pretty good assessment Gator. Defense has held Texans to 37 yards rushing. Aaron Brooks and the offense has looked terrible. Aaron has got to spread the ball around and get it down field. I think we get the ball in the third quarter. Let\'s hope the offense gets it in gear.

GATOR BITES (1st Half Summary)

At the half - we look like a 5-11 team. My thoughts:

1. We are completely undisciplined - penalties kill us, we\'re out of position a lot, and even when we\'re in position we miss tackles or just get beat. 150+ yards in a half to an expansion team is NOT good defense. Yeah, we didn\'t give up any big plays, but we did give up two scores to HOUSTON.

2. Whatever magic McCarthy had last season is gone. Running Deuce on slow developing draws and sweeps or up the middle is a complete misuse of his talent. Plus, with the receivers we\'ve got, shouldn\'t we be stretching the field more?

3. Jay Bellamy does not deserve to be on the field - and I\'m not just saying that b/c he got juked out of his pants by Carr for a touchdown. He is TERRIBLE. He may be the worst DB in the history of the Saints. That\'s saying A LOT.

4. Brooks looks OK. I would like to see him look towards WRs other than Horn once in a while, but... Our O-line looks pretty suspect, and dropped balls continue to be a problem.

Our offense looks like it will be 15th. Our defense looks like it will be 20th. Great.
