this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; For this week (and hopefully for many weeks to come), I will enjoy being wrong about Aaron Brooks and the defense (including Venturi). I was very upset going into halftime. We had far too many dumb penalties in the second ...

I love being wrong...

For this week (and hopefully for many weeks to come), I will enjoy being wrong about Aaron Brooks and the defense (including Venturi).

I was very upset going into halftime. We had far too many dumb penalties in the second quarter, and Brooks seemed to 'own' Horn with his eyes.

The adjustments made in the lockerroom were great, however, and a different team took the field in the second half. The defense came alive!! Pressure, sacks, interceptions, oh my!! From the radio broadcast (I had to listen to the game in B'ham), it also sounded like we could have had at least two more I-N-T's. Venturi has to get credit for the defensive half he called. Very impressive.

Brooks seemed to relax and open up a bit more in the second half, too. I hope that his game is an indication of things to come. Billy might be on to something.

Here are the things that I am most happy about with our offseason in retrospect:

1. We paid Joe (11 catches!?!?!?)
2. We kept Whitehead.
3. Derrick Rogers
4. Mitch Berger... we should just let him skip the offseason from now on

Today is a good day to be a Saints fan.

I know Houston isn't the cream of the NFL, but today I'm just gonna enjoy a strong performance from my team.

I love being wrong.
