I still believe we never had a chance of signing him. As far as I remember once he visited Buffalo and they made him a good offer, he canceled all visits to other teams (Saints rumoured to be one of the teams he snubbed) and left it to his agent to finalize the contract.

True, same as Milloy. Bills very well may be in Super Bowl this year.
Word of mouth among players is huge. It\'s not all about the money as some think. |

You guys are incrediable. Our defense, after 2-games, is ranked in the top - 5 and yet you feel the need to pissed off about not signing Taeko. I could give a sh!t less about Taeko.
Can\'t bash Brooks, Haslett, Venturi, or anyone else, so you had to find something to pissed off about huh? |

Actually William,
I was just thinking in light of not having Mr Glass for the next 12 weeks, it would nice to have a proven playmaker at linebacker. I was also thinking that given the financial commitment the franchise took in signing T-bucky is probably unmerited. He\'s making quite a bit of $$$ to be a complete non-entity on the field. |

BMG -- Tebucky didn\'t have a bad game yesterday. Sounds like you are saying Tebucky is a bust as a Saint and he\'s only played 2 game. Of course, with a name like BrooksMustGo -- that\' about what I expected --

Nope that\'s NOT what I\'m saying at all.
What I am saying is that in the modern NFL there is a policy that we call the \"salary cap\". This \"salary cap\" provides a set budget for teams to pay their players with, effectively \"capping\" the total amount of salary that can be paid. I\'m simply saying if you desire to go out and make a significant investment in 1 player, why not pick a player that you get good return on your money for? i.e. and \"impact\" player. My thought is that T-bucky isn\'t showing that he\'s worth being one of the highest paid safties in the league. If he came in and played like Roy Williams, things would be different, but he doesn\'t (and has already been pointed out) he isn\'t playing as well as Jay Bellamy. My thought is given that we have finite cash resources, why did we not choose make a MAJOR effort to sign Takeo who is going to go have a pro bowl season? As for Bellamy who is playing better than TB, we didn\'t have to go and sign him, he was already under contract. \"Free agency\" is the period for players whose contracts have expired go and look for new teams to play for. \"Free agents\" are thus not under contract. Bellamy was not a \"free agent\" this past year because he was already \"under contract\" to play for the Saints. At any rate, I miss the dome patrol and I don\'t think T-bukky is within shouting distance of reviving it. Takeo would have been a HUGE addition to our team both in coverage, pass rush and run support. I can\'t imagine why we\'d want a guy like that playing at linebacker (rolling eyes) |
