Playing with House Money???
What exactly does this phrase mean? I have heard it out of quite a few mouths recently, and maybe my East Central Mississippi mentallity, can't break the code or something. How are the Saints "playing with house money"? Are they saying we didn't earn this superbowl spot? I like to know when I am being insulted, so if someone can please explain it to me, I would be really appreciative.

Re: Playing with House Money???
It means you won a bunch of money from the "house" or the casino dealer and you are betting with that windfall, not the money you walked in with.
That is the key to beating up blackjack dealers. |

Re: Playing with House Money???
I'm not a big gambler. I was playing blackjack drunk one time in Reno, and ticked off the entire table, because I didn't know what doubling down was, and didn't do it. Not really my thing.

Re: Playing with House Money???
i dont know why the media feels this way. i KNOW the saints players dont feel this way. you think they want to stop here for this city? they wanna win this thing so bad for the city! they should know we're so f'ing proud of them for getting this far already, but, all they talk about is winning it.
if anything, i could see the colts playing w/ house money, because they've already won it all. that makes more sense to me. |

=QUOTE] 100% correct, but to answer the post, yes, you are being insulted. The implication is that the Saints did not get there on their own merits and should be happy just to be there. Tell the people saying it to you to go Favre themselves |

The casino doesn't laugh when you walk out with house money.
Neither will the Dolts. |
