Tony Dungy is convinced his old team will win the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Dungy, who resigned as Colts coach after last season, said on Dan Patrick's radio show on Wednesday that he can't see the Saints upsetting the Colts in Sunday's Super Bowl.

"I would be absolutely shocked," Dungy said of the possibility of Indianapolis losing. "They haven't lost a game yet this year that they were trying to win."

The Colts went 14-2 in the regular season, with the two losses coming after lifting Peyton Manning and other key starters in Weeks 16 and 17.

Dungy is the second major NFL stakeholder to say he'd be shocked by the outcome of a playoff game this postseason. Vikings QB Brett Favre said before the team's divisional playoff win against Dallas that it would "be a shock" if Minnesota lost

If memory serves me correctly, Tony said there was "absolutely no way" the Saints would lose to Dallas, so...

And maybe it wasn't the Dallas game, but I distinctly remember him saying no way the Saints would lose a game that they ended up losing.

Hope he is wrong again!!

Why on earth did they expect him to say. He's not exactly objective now is he? The media kills me. Tony makes it sound like they're invincible. He forgets they had to come from behind like, what, 7 times this season. And please don't forget the Pats game. The colts are beatable, just like any other team in the NFL.

Coming from behind and finding ways to win are what good teams do. We do it many times ourselves. A win is a win no matter how it is achieved and if anything, a come from behind character win is more important for a team than a rout.

I expect Dungy will side with his former club, no shock there. But the game is played on the field, either team can produce a great effort and win it. We definitely have the ability to beat the Colts, we just have to produce it.

Go get it done boys!

because despite his struggles in the playoffs over his entire career, his 1 super bowl victory proves that he is the best to ever play.....despite being outplayed by the QB on the other team this sunday

He's well liked in Indy. He got them their only Pony Title... so you figure, he can eat for free at any local restaurant, makes more money at autograph signings, get free hotels stays, etc... he's not going to mess that up.

lol.. This made the news? what in the world did they want him to say? he's been a rival coach against saints for most of his career and his last team was with the Colts.
Not to mention Colts does have the upper hand in various strengths, and the current head coach of Colts is Dungy's protege', Im sure their locker-room and Organization would be "SHOCKED" if Dungy had anything derogatory to say against them in their biggest game no matter who they played.

Well, this is the second team Tony has left who have made it to the superbowl the next year. Dungy was similar to Peyton in having great regular seasons but not so much in the playoffs. Many think the playoffs are a whole nother level of play and Tony didn't always adjust, but had the saying "we do what we do", which was obvious to the strong teams who made the playoffs. Most Colts fans loved Tony but are kind of questioning Tony's playoff strategies which resulted in so many one and done. (or one and dun (gy)) Many thought he was a little too loyal to his coaches, especially Meeks and Purnell (defense and ST) who are now gone.

It's a spoiled fan base, what can I say.:(

The fact still remains, that in every game this past season that the A team started and played the entire game, they won. It doesn't matter how, it just matters they won. The Saints are going to have to do something that has not happened 25 games.
