Football Outsiders IVIV review They are basically saying, take the points, but the outcome will come down to who chokes last. My take is that the data indicates that the Colts can be stopped (they were often this season) and that even though they don't make mistakes, if you keep them in front of you, they can't really hurt you. Give up the 3 points, don't give up the 6. Lots of yards, not a lot of points. That's the key to victory. That and keep Dallas Clark in someone's pocket. |

You could be right xan. I think it comes down to INTs. We win, IF Brees goes clean and (if I can hedge a little here) our WRs don't fumble

I agree with keeping everything in front of us. No big plays, limit yards after the catch, create lots of 3rd and longs, and chances are, we'll get some good opportunities for turnovers. We play front-runner, and make them have to march full field for 3 points.

First -we pin them inside the twenty on all special teams. Then we make them drive the field for another demoralizing field goal.

We play liked we did against the Patriots, Giants and Jets... meaning..
Run the ball well.... set up play action. Get a lead. Make the other team play catch up. Take the ball out of Peyton's hands... show Nickel coverage.. force him to hand it off or throw into well covered receivers. |

Someone said this, and I agree. We have got to score touchdowns, not field goals. Redzone efficiency, third down efficiency, gotta get the 7. I didn't like the play calling in the Vikings game. I thought we played too conservatively. Payton needs to open it up early, and often.

Agreed, we must score TD's not FG's. I would add we need to have long drives as well. Scoring 4 TD's out of 7 drives is better than scoring 4 TD's out of 10 drives because it keeps Manning off the field.
Most important, we must win the turnover battle. I love Football Outsiders! |

I have a good feeling about this one. Peyton's label of "choke-artist" has only been invisible for about the last 3 or 4 years. Maybe the Peyton of old will return.
