RICKEY JACKSON WILL BE INDUCTED INTO THE NFL HALL OF FAME
 

Retired New Orleans Saints Linebacker Rickey Jackson, who spent 13 years in with the Saints (1981-93) before finishing his career with the San Francisco 49ers (1994-95) where he earned a Super Bowl ring with the 49ers, will be inducted into the shrine in Canton, Ohio, birthplace of the NFL, in late summer.

When he retired in 1995, Jackson ranked third all-time in NFL history with 128 quarterback sacks. He still ranks third in NFL history with 28 recovered fumbles and fourth all-time with 41 forced fumbles. He also broke up 118 passes.

It's already been a great year. Both on and off the field the Saints have achieved heights never before reached.

To win tomorrow will make it the ultimate year.

I love the Saints. RJ was the greatest player to ever suit up for us and was my all time favorite player of all time in any sport on the planet.

Then he stabbed me right thru my heart by signing with our most hated rival for roughly the same money we were offering him.

I'll let the rest of you guys rejoice in this, but it just made my superbowl weekend a lot crappier.

Fark that sell out. I wish I still had his jersey to burn.

danno the saints let ricky go and get the ring. That is well known. The saints and Jackson agreed with the deal. The guy deserved a ring and NO was not going to get it for him.

I have lived long enough to see the saints in the super bowl and a saint to make the hall. all is good. monday will be a good day to die.

It hurt me when Rickie (and Morten, and Hebert, and others) left the team, but that's business.

Rickey is the best LB and 1 of the best players to ever wear the B&G, and that's football my friends.

He's going in as a Saint, mainly because most of his best years were in New Orleans. It would be even more sweet if the Black and Gold take the Lombardi!! A WIN-WIN for the Who Dat Nation!!

Actually the Hall of Fame doesn't distinguish players as belonging to any team. Ricky goes in as one of the best football players ever. If it wasn't for Lawrence Taylor I'd say he was the LB I ever saw.

Happy for Rickey Jackson; and at the time was glad to see 'em get his shot (as Painful as that was seeing the Hated "9ers) and after Mora wasted his best years with his punt tackle kick offense...

But Bobby Hebert doing that swooping bird BS in the Atlanta Jersey was unforgiveable...

And I didn't think WWL could find anyone more incoherent than Buddy D could be at times (especially after a day with the Ponies); but Hebert is brutal to the ears...

And I just didn't like Hebert doing his dirty bird routine; classless...

Two other thoughts on Rickey; one, did he get the child support thing cleared up? and two, does Andre Tippet getting in close the deal for Rickey who had better stats?!?

Who is that fat Steeler announcer guy? I've seen him on a few shows, and he has ALWAYS gotten on my freaking nerves. His voice, his face, his one sided opinions.... I just plain don't like him.
