I had a friend's mom paint a coffee table like the Superdome floor, just for me. When all the people I know see the Saints on tv, they think of me, because I'm the only person they know who loves them.

I used to like it when friends saw my Wall O' Saints in the hall, and were like, "wow."

My grooms cake was the Superdome. We planned the wedding during the offseason, when our last record was 3-13. I wanted it anyway. By the time our wedding day came, it was the middle of the '06 season, so the magic had just begun.

We sat in Tiger Stadium and watched Aaron Brooks, while the media told us they were moving.

Do you remember? We loved them when they were losers.

Our Saints are the World Champions!

That's what makes the Superbowl win so much sweeter. How many times was I asked "Really? A Saints fan? Why?" Or worse, "You gonna quit believing in that team and get a real team to route for?"

When I moved here 7 years ago a guy from Meterie moved in two weeks later. I remember excitedly asking him if he was a Saints fan and felt like I was punched in the face when he responded, "Too much heartbreak. I can't continue to watch them and get my hopes dashed all the time."
I told him that it's coming and he said "Good for you."

Now? Friends and family are contacting me (as well as people from my past) and saying "After all you suffered with the Saints you deserve this." They know that this team means so much to me. This team helped define me as I grew up.

Conversely, my "enemies" are pissed and told me so. Again, that makes it even sweeter.

My wife is getting tired of me asking "Did the Saints really win the Superbowl?"
They did!

The Saints won Superbowl 44!
