this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I wore my Archie Manning shirt all year. When I thought of this day I always included Archie. I know he is hurting for his son...anyone would. I just hope he can get something out of this day....

I still wish ARCHIE could enjoy a part of this.

I think he will. Obviously his sons are #1 & 2 on his winners wish list, but the Saints are probably #3. He's been associated with the organization for so long, he's still going to feel it.

I hope that he does/will. He has made the city his home and maintained close ties to the organization. Obviously he wants his boys to do succeed and they have and are. But the city is his home too and he understands better than nearly anyone how important the Saints are to the region.
In some ways, I wish that we could have played anyone else out of the afc for Archie's sake. But then again, I like that we played Peyton because you have to earn a win against him. |

If you build a canoe you have to paddle it.

Archie can't today. He's already on record saying that he's proud of the Saints for their achievements this year.
But there will be a point where he can marvel in it just as much as we are now. It's not like Peyton and Eli haven't already been to the mountaintop. And in Peyton's case that he won't get the opportunity again. SFIAH |
