My dad, who has been going to LSU games for 67 years, said the perfect college football coach would be a mixture of Les Miles's riverboat gambler (with the ability to tell time) with Nick (gulp, can barely...type...the...words) Saban's kill or be killed instinct (minus the black heart). Coach Payton is definitely the pro equivalent of this fantasy coach scenario in my book.
