Saints' Porter explains what he saw on pick-six
10:33 AM02.08 Posted By: Andrew Perloff Saints Super Bowl hero Tracy Porter joined the show to talk about his pick-six against the Colts. "Everything just started to slow down," Porter said. "The only thing i saw was myself and the ball. And once I had the ball in my hands ... the mentality was to score." Porter said he could see Peyton Manning's face when he was running back the interception. Porter said Manning looked very unhappy. Porter explained that he saw this play coming when the Colts' Austin Collie went in motion. He said the film study paid off in a big way. Porter also said that all the Peyton Manning talk inspired the Saints' defense. They took it personally. Porter also described his haircut. He had the Lombardi Trophy and the road to the Super Dome and the words "SB 44." Porter said he thinks Sean Payton hasn't seen it yet, but he will. Dan asked Porter if he felt he should have won the MVP. "I would have taken it," Porter said. "I wouldn't be myself if I didn't say I deserved it. But Drew had a somewhat bigger night than me, throwing a near-perfect game." Read More: Saints' Porter explains what he saw on pick-six - Dan Patrick.com |
W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Re: DAMN YOU TRACY PORTER!
I think have some holes on the defensive line has made our defense have to adapt coverages and stuff. I think our corner backs will be even better if we get a defensive tackle to stand next to Ellis. Anyone notice how well our defense was doing when we were going with a 3 D-line look? Yes we had the extra player in pass coverage and the Colts were a passing team, but thats been a problem for us all year long I think, especially against the Vikes(due to them having a balanced offense). Because of that hole at DT we have a hard time balancing out our defense. I'd be surprised if we didn't take a DT in the draft. A lot of people are screaming for Linebackers, but I'd say that our linebacker core is underrated.
I think we are a draft away from having a top 5 defense to go with our offense. |

I agree. Our defense is not far from elite. I really hope that D-sharp gets re-signed, asap. He really brought a swagger to that secondary, and with him leading the charge back there, and another DT of Ellis' caliber? Wow..... All I can say is wow...

Vilma Ellis Present stable of CB's just won the damn super bowl for us, so yea... please keep them around! Can you imagine playing AGAINST THEM? I can. The Saints did that in the past... farm team mentality. Those days are gone. It is a new day. |
