Those wanting to attend the New Orleans Saints' championship parade this evening should probably already be out there if they want a good spot, but here is some information if you're not.
Tonight's weather is going to be very chilly with the high for the whole day being 49 degrees and dropping. Winds will be 15-20 mph and lows will dip down into the lower 30s so bundle up. Now for the msot important information. The parade begins at 5:00 P.M. Central time at the corner of Poydras and LaSalle in front of the Superdome. It will run a rather long route before ending at Mardi Gras World at the end of Convention Center Boulevard. People have been asking me for a while now about road closings and finally that information has been released. Please pay close attention to this information for best places to park, where NOT to park, and how to get around if you aren't attending the parade. Street Closures: The following streets will be closed for the parade. • On Poydras from N. Claiborne to Loyola; 4:30pm to 7:00pm • On Loyola from Poydras to Howard 5:00pm to 7:00pm • On Howard from Loyola to Lee Circle to St. Charles 5:00pm to 7:30pm • On St. Charles from Lee Circle to Canal 5:30pm to 8:30pm • On Canal both directions from N. Rampart to S. Peters 6:00pm to 9:00pm • On Tchoupitoulas from Canal to Poydras 6:00pm to 9:00pm • On Poydras from Tchoupitoulas to Convention Center Blvd. 6:00pm to 9:00pm • On Convention Center Blvd both directions from Poydras to Henderson 6:30pm to 9:30pm Barricade Locations: • The turn from Poydras onto Loyola • The turn from Loyola to Howard • Lee Circle to St. Charles to Canal • Canal from St. Charles to University including the u-turn • Canal from Burgundy to Tchoupitoulas • The turn from Tchoupitoulas to Poydras • The turn from Poydras to Convention Center Blvd • The cross over on Convention Center Blvd at Julia NO PARKING ZONES: • On the river bound side of Poydras Street from S. Claiborne Avenue to Loyola Avenue, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On the uptown bound side of Loyola Avenue from Poydras to Howard Avenue, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On the river bound side of Howard Avenue from Loyola Avenue to St. Charles Avenue, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On both side of St. Charles Avenue from Howard Avenue to Canal Street, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On both sides of Canal Street from N. S. Rampart Street to Tchoupitoulas Street, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On both sides of Tchoupitoulas Street from Canal Street to Poydras Street, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On the river bound side of Poydras Street from Tchoupitoulas Street to Convention Center Boulevard, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm. • On the uptown bound side of Convention Center Boulevard from Poydras Street to Henderson Street, No Parking from 2:00pm, until 8:00pm.
