this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; seriously the media needs to stfu. They were hyping him up to be the best quarterback ever to live, and now that he lost a super bowl everyone is calling him a choker and overrated. He's a damn good quarterback ...

On Peyton Manning.....
seriously the media needs to stfu. They were hyping him up to be the best quarterback ever to live, and now that he lost a super bowl everyone is calling him a choker and overrated. He's a damn good quarterback and Porter made a good play on the ball. You have people saying that the greats would never throw an interception like that, which is complete bull****. Anyone could do that. I am thrilled my Saints won, and I have a lot of respect for who we beat. Yes he is probably overrated in that he probably isn't the greatest thing to ever step on a field, but he is still pretty damn good.

Re: On Peyton Manning.....
The media IS the message... and it ain't a pretty picture, is it. Thing is, it could all be changed rather quickly but that is unlikely. It would mean the consumer would demand better programming and content. They like cheese so McDonalds keeps servin' cheeseburgers. |

Re: On Peyton Manning.....
I agree hitta. Although it isn't really the "media" calling Manning a choker it is really just Peon Sanders. Pink slip for Peon from NFL Network would be nice so I can start watching it again.

Re: On Peyton Manning.....
How do you think Pats fans feel?
Peyton Manning being hyped as the best ever when there isn't just one, but TWO QBs from the last decade with more rings than him. The media is fickle though. Should Brees, or Brady win another one before Peyton watch for the media to change its' stance to them possibly being the best ever. I didn't include Worthlessburger. His 22 QB rating in his first superbowl will keep him off the all time list forever |

Re: On Peyton Manning.....
Does it really matter that Manning left the field?
I'm bitter that Belichick got blasted when he did and Manning was just called super competitive but neither case bothered me. Let the Saints have the field. Besides, I'm sure Peyton will talk to Brees and some point and congratulate him on his own. |

I don't think either Belichick or Manning meant it as disrespect. If anything, they didn't deserve to be on the field with the winners. |
