The Brown/Bushrod debate

Who do we keep? I think Bushrod is really underrated and has a lot of upside and will probably eventually be as good or better than Brown. Our offensive line is definitely not a weakness. We could probably get a 1st rounder by trading Brown though, or possibly a good DE. Thoughts?

Bushrod is indeed underrated.

I could not agree more.

If one had to go I'd say Brown. Too many false starts and bonehead mistakes. But I'd like both to say and once move ovr to another position.

Brown's play was on the decline before the injuries. With his salary demands surely to be high and the unknown of said injuries, it's time to let him go. I'd give Bushrod a B on his play this season. With a full offseason to work on his mistakes, he could become an All-Pro LT in the league if he continues to improve. At the very least, he's definitely good enough. I personally think Strief is good enough as well to start if Bushrod or Stinchcomb goes down. The uncapped year could play a large factor in the decision. If they can bring Brown in with an incentive type deal with an acceptable base, competition is always a good thing.

I think Bushrod is a below average LT with some upside. I think he'd start on about 4 or 5 teams in this league.

Jammal Brown is three times the LT Bushrod is, and I'm being generous.

Brown is definitely a not above Bushrod. Jermon played huge for us but we always had to give him help. He was much more disciplined than Brown has been in the past though and that was my big knock on Brown.

If we could find a way to keep all of our o-line including depth we would have 4 tackles I would be confident with in the game. Strief has been solid whenever he's had to carry the load also. Cap wise and other needs in mind, we should use one of the two to fill other more pressing needs.
