I still think they belong in the playbook. I trust Sean. He got us here. |

Re: Payton's Playcalling
You hit the nail squarely on the head. 95% of the times when the play doesn't work it is because of lack of execution. A missed block here or not there fast enough to block a man is usually the case.

Re: Payton's Playcalling
YOU CAN'T QUESTION HIS CALLS...
IF YOU DO YOU ARE SAYING YOU KNOW BETTER... YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE VERY MUCH SUPPORT BASHING HIS CALLS BECAUSE OF ALL THE CRAZY CALLS HE MAKES... WHO CALLS AMBUSH TO START THE 2ND HALF WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY DOWN??? -SEAN PAYTON. IN Miami against the Dolphins he called a reverse in the red zone who does that??? The fact that clowns out there thinks its taboo is the very same reason you run it because its the least expected. |

Re: Payton's Playcalling
We didn't get one of the Colts defenders blocked on the reverse call and the Colts guy made a great play where Henderson lost 9 yards. Get him blocked next time and I think that play would've gone for positive yards. The major thing is we didn't turn it over.

Re: Payton's Playcalling
So if it's 3rd and 8 and Payton decides to go jumbo formation and run a dive play up the middle... you're saying I don't have the right to question what the hell he's thinking? He's human and humans make mistakes. He doesn't walk on water and if he does something pretty stupid, he deserves to be criticized.

Re: Payton's Playcalling
I'm not about to start doubting the coach now.....well except for our first series in the SB....3rd and 2 I probably would have been a little more conservative and just tried to pick up the 1st down. But I guess that's why I was watching it at home and he was calling the plays lol. All joking aside, Payton is a genius.

Re: Payton's Playcalling
You know if the plays work you are a genius if they don't you are an idiot. I for one like the play to win attitude, in contrast to the way Mora coached. Obviously, anyone is fair game to criticizm and I can Monday morning coach as well as the next guy.

Re: Payton's Playcalling
If nothing else, the onside kick was an example of what people always say regarding geniuses...they are a heartbeat away from being crazy...or something like that.
