What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I think that the Saints will open at home with either Minn or Pitt on
the Thursday night opener. Dallas will be playing an NFC team this year on Thanksgiving and They are on our Schedule as an away game. What do yall think the chances are of us playing them on Thankgiving Day this year? I don't think the Saints have ever played on Thanksgiving Day. |
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I doubt it because it is typical to have a boring matchup with Dallas and Detroit on Thanksgiving day. Probably Cleveland.

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
NOOOOOOOOOOOO. i want to enjoy my meal and take naps. a saints game on this day will ruin my meal and nap
|
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I hope not. I want to go to Dallas and watch the Saints take them apart in the Palace. If it's on Thanksgiving, I won't be able to go. So my vote is for NO Saints on Thanksgiving.

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
No. We have enough weird kickoff times. This year was tough because of all the weirdness. In fact the only advantage to rooting for a team that sucks is that you always get the same ol noon start on Sunday.
The more normal our schedule is, the better. Old Guys, have we ever played on Thanksgiving? |
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I think with success more weird start times come. I am ok with it though
sure beats all those years with noon kickoffs but no success. |

Winning has put on on all these wierd non-rhythmic schedules--- harder for the players, and I think a little trickier for us. |
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I'm all for the weird start times - those tend to be nationally televised games (which means more exposure for our team) and the only way I get to see a Saints game on tv here in DFW. Bring on the Sunday Night & Monday night games!

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
i've been going every 3 years to dallas for thanksgiving since 1997, its a family tradition. i hate the cowbums its my history. but being in dallas is an awsome place for the holiday. but being it was last thanksgiving we were there it won't matter to me if they play in 2010.it would have been nice to see the saints in jerry world. i know my bro who lives there and is a huge saints fan like me would love it if they hook horns, he won't be coming to lafayette i'm sure

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
No.Jerry Jones has his Cowboys day on TD . It has been that way like forever.
|
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
Very interesting issue, but I don't believe the Saints will be in the Thanksgiving game. My belief is the Cowboys game will be a Monday Night game, and we all know the NFL is always interested in maximizing their big money teams. What I mean is why show the Cowboys vs Saints on Thanksgiving when they already know Cowboys vs anyone else is still going to be a big draw, and save the Cowboys vs Saints for another slot which should draw even better ratings. JMO.

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I'll go with majority and vote no--
I hate short weeks, and I doubt that the NFL would give up a potential big audience game like NO-Dall |

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
We have never played on TG Day.
It would be nice to - BUT I think I would rather play Detroit. |
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
Saints didn't have a Sunday night game on NBC in 2009, I look for Cowboys vs Saints on a Sunday night for NBC.
|
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
Nope never played on TG....I see no reason to break this tradition.

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
There's enough stress on TD that I don't need them to add the Saints playing the Cowboys to it. I'd rather watch the Saints revenge last season's lose in prime time
|
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
Correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't it the same boring games every Thanksgiving? Detriot, Dallas, Minny, Cleveland, Green Bay.....Thats it....yawn. Forgive me if I left out another team there that I don't give a rats ass about. It's lame and the only reason I watch them is because it helps me get some nap time in. I wouldn't mind seeing a little mix up there, but like someone mentioned...it would definately make TG a little more stressful.

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
I think if we wanted it bad enough we could start a petition to Roger Goodel, suggesting the Saints play on thanksgiving day.
|
Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
We did very well this year when we played several games outside of the regular start times that we are used to. I like having the national exposure. We seem to play well no matter what time kick off is.

Re: What about Saints on Thanksgiving Day 2010
i don't see us on thanksgiving day but opening with dallas on a thursday night would be a classic
