this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; will he be matched against Owens? Has anyone heard if he is ready to play right away if he is reinststed? If so, I think he may be the key to slowing down the 49ers passing attack....

Assuming Carter is activated for the game...
I don\'t know if I\'d make him the number one man right off. I think the best would be to make him the Nickel Back to start. Being suspended, he wasn\'t allowed to practice with the team. Even with the playbook it\'s not the same as playing with the rest of the team.
If as the game goes along, you see him as more and more comfortable, then you might move him up. And think about it. San Fran hasn\'t been playing that well. Garcia\'s already been knocked out of one game this season & Terrell Owens only has 201 yards and one TD. SF doesn\'t frighten me as they have in prior years. |

Assuming (and that would be a hugh assumption..still no word from the league or the Saints on that) You got to play him. Even if he is a little rusty. Face it Dale Carter is a game breaker. If he only knew half the play book and was only 75 percent healthy he still would be a giant uppgrade over Hawthorne. Has anyone heard anymore about Dale being reinstated.

With Dale just sitting on the bench will be a major factor to the Saints game. I think that we all will get an uplifting just to see him suit up.

This is a mute point! Everyday for the past three weeks I have been hearing that Carter will be reinstated. I would love to have him back. But, he is not on the team yet. So leave it alone until he is wearing black and gold again. (Sorry I had to vent, I am as frustrated with the sitution as everybody)- A better discussion would be; How are we going to cover TO? Will it be zone or man coverage and if it is man coverage, who will have the primary task of covering him. Personally, I don\'t think we have any conerbacks that can cover him man to man.

I don\'t think we have a man to cover TO. But who does? The guy is probably one of the top receivers in the league. We need to put a lot of pressure on Garcia, put him on his bike and make him ride. We have to disrupt their passing game and hope Sammy and Jay can get some picks when To and company break off their route to try and help out. We gotta be careful because Garcia can scramble if not flat out run and SF will use a tricky shuttle pass and screen plays.
