New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter and his fiancée, Devyn Adams, are so sure the Saints are heading back to the Super Bowl that they scheduled their wedding for Feb. 12, 2011.
"That's one week after the Super Bowl," said Adams, who has known Porter for about eight years and got engaged on Christmas Day 2009. It's not that far-fetched. Porter made a name for himself as the Saint who made pivotal interceptions in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl XLIV. Porter is a humble young man who began playing football as a junior in high school. He graduated from Indiana University in 2008 and was drafted by the Saints in the second round (No. 40 overall). He was injured during most of his rookie season, but started to come into his own in 2009. And it culminated with his interception return for a touchdown in the Super Bowl. And Saturday, Porter will be honored in his hometown of Port Allen, La., population 5,000. "I love it there. It's just a grocery store and couple of gas stations," said Porter, who played quarterback, running back and defensive back at Port Allen High. "It's a small town, but it's my community. After I retire, I want to give back to that community." Port Allen Mayor Derek Lewis said if anyone deserves the honor, it's Porter. "He should be on cloud nine after his interception but that's not his story," Lewis said. "He doesn't say 'my victory,' he says 'our victory.'" To cap a terrific month, Port Allen is going to rename the street on which he grew up as Porter Avenue. |

Congratulations Tracy! Listen, 30 years from now when you are telling your Grandkids how You intercepeted a pass from HOFer Brett Favre at the end of the NFC Championship Game that help send the Saints to Super Bowl 44 and then in the Super Bowl at the end of the game You intercepted the Great Peyton Manning anothe HOFer and took it in for a TD to win the Super Bowl, I hope they don't think you are fantisizing and tell you to "take your medicine". It does sound surreal, but we all know it's true. Congratulations and Good Luck to You and Devyn and good luck in SB45!!

I'm telling you Smashmouth, on NFL Live Suzy Kolber asked Porter what he thought of the town being renamed Porter Allen. He didn't correct her and said that it was an honor.
