The defense gave up alot of yards underneath but I thought they gave a fairly solid effort today. Their tackling was very good.
The defense did what they were suppose to do by making the solo tackles and stopping the yds after the catch. Had the offense left New orleans with the defense it would have been a good game. |

FWtex-
the defense played horrible, yes the object is to tackle the guy with the ball, but the better objective is to stop the guy from catching the ball, we did horrible at that, they were getting 18 yard strikes, when what should have been happening, was our CB\'s should have been batting balls down, not slipping in the coverage and not even realizing, \"hey, i didn\'t realize he was over there, oops, he just caught the ball, what do i do now?\" it was like the D wasn\'t even on the field. |

I am quite certain I was watching the same game as you. Maybe the difference is I did not go into the game expecting the defense to shut Tenn. down. Sure I would have liked to see them breaking up passes but with 5 starters on the defense out I knew that was going to be impossible. The defense was put out there to slow the titans down and then stop them if possible in the short field.
Had the offense played this game the defense may have been able to play better. I thought the defense was in damage control mode. I am not saying the defense is good but just that they played better than I had expected them to play. |

the D-line was good, but the secondary stunk. Fred thomas, even though he is a backup, could have done a better job, he was even fighting for a starting spot during training camp, boy am i glad he didn\'t get it, I can\'t wait till Dale Carter gets back.

like i said before they should\'ve drafted some defensive backs and pass on Tebuckey Jones( Marcus Trufant, Ken Hamlin, Mel Mitchell, and Dale Carter)
