SAINTS TENDER QUALIFYING OFFERS TO 13 RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Thursday that the club has tendered qualifying offers to 13 players slated to become restricted free agents at the start of the new league year next week. Terms of the offers were not disclosed.

Defensive linemen Remi Ayodele and Anthony Hargrove,

offensive tackles Jammal Brown, Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief,

safeties Roman Harper, Chris Reis and Usama Young,

linebacker Marvin Mitchell,

wide receivers Lance Moore and Courtney Roby,

tight end David Thomas and running back Pierre Thomas

are the 13 players who have received offers from the team.

No Jahri Evans tender = Long term deal in the works.

No tender for Bell, Charlston, Torrence or Eckel.

I like Charleston for depth but maybe no one else will want him and we keep him cheap.

The others.... No big deal to me.

we are working hard to keep the core of our team together

its evident that we are worrying about our core players first and our role players second

however, like someone else mentioned, jahri evans was not mentioned

im wondering if he wants to test the market? im sure we would match anything another team offered him but maybe he wants to see what he could get in the open market

on the other hand, usually a tender means they are going to put off those contract deals for awhile so they can work on other things first

maybe jarhi is working on something right now and we are going to deal with the other players later
