Darren Sharper #1
NFL Network ranked Darren Sharper as the biggest free agent pick up, for last season. They also have him as the biggest name free agent available this season.
I'm not one to usually agree with analysts, but it's funny, that they all agreed that the Saints are crazy, if they let him get away. Everytime I think about this, I feel sick at my stomach. |

I don't know...pay the man. Do it year to year...kind of in the rears. If he gets 9 picks next year...pay him again.
Of course...it's not my money...so, pay them all. You know...I've got what I want. Another would be good, but not necessary. I can die in peace now. If it were up to me...pay them all. Tom...you listening? Pay the man...and I need a good deal on a great used car for my daughter...she only has about 2K to spend. |

This is a tricky situation......The FO must be playing their own game of chess and hoping they make the right moves. They did an excellent job last year in the off season. So, even though I'm nervous I have faith that they know what they are doing.

Re: Darren Sharper #1
I'm just not sure what everyone is so worried about. It's almost the same discussion as Vilma last year and some thinking that we should have given up a draft pick to ensure that he didn't get to free agency.
The point that everyone keeps missing is that even as a free agent, Sharper has to make a decision to sign with another team. It's not an obligation for him to leave. Truthfully he should be very happy right now. The Saints are giving him an opportunity to shop the market and come back with the best deal the market has to offer. No one really knows what that is. Some other team is going to have to drive up a high price to get Sharper to say "Show me the money!" as opposed to "I want another ring!" It just didn't make sense for the team to obligate itself to paying Sharper $6.5 million for one year when there is a good chance he shops the market and the best he may get is $7 million for 2 years with a $2 million signing bonus. There is nothing that is stopping the Saints for offering that $6.5 million for one year. But why bid against yourself? You see Daniel Snyder with any bling? SFIAH |

Just saying that, even though there will be no cap starting March 5, owners are going to act as though there is one, and for good reason. So, paying everyone is not an option. |

I think that we will keep him but maybe for less than the 6.5.. something like 4 per will keep him happy....

Re: Darren Sharper #1
After last season all I can do is trust Sean and Loomis to do the right thing for the team. I find out odd that the Bears have been linked to Sharper, Peppers and Marshall. Where did they get all this money from all of a sudden? In the end, I see Sharper coming back on a 3 yr 12 mil contract and retires a Saint. I do think they need to start looking for his replacement ASAP
