Possible reasons Sharper on Market
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think they are just showing him that nobody will pay him the 6 million he wants, and whatever he is offered they will pay. If the highest offer he gets is 3 million and he was asking for 6 ...

I think they are just showing him that nobody will pay him the 6 million he wants, and whatever he is offered they will pay. If the highest offer he gets is 3 million and he was asking for 6 and the Saints sign him they save themselves 3 million.
