Oh...btw. I use to put tape on my cleats like that. My reason was simple. That's what Archie did at Ole Miss. I can still remember those cleats he wore...pretty sure they were Riddell? (I actually scored a couple of pairs before I left Ole Miss' freshmen team many moons ago, 1 pair for astro-turf and another for regular turf...but that's another story)
Now I know why Riddell never offered me an endorsement, though. ![]() |

that reminds me of a picture in an old Saints game program from 86- someone, I think it was a lineman had his cleats and ankles taped seven ways to Sunday, couldn't see a brand or most of the shoe (at all!), and someone had taken a sharpie or a pen and written "For Rent" on the side of the shoe.
