Back to where it all started
I know many people have already seen this video, infact ive viewed it a couple hundred times myself.
I thought it would be good to see where our 2009 superbowl champion saints were born, back in 2006 in the return to the superdome!!! everytime i watch this video it chokes me up, how to fix an nfl team:the 2006 saints. the 2006 season is special in its very own way, however both the 2006 + 2009 season will be remembered for the reasons. 2006 - the Start of something great, 2009 - we are finally winners!!! |

Re: Back to where it all started
That's a great video, but it got me thinking...
To me, it is incredible that New Orleans has a world champion professional football team and Los Angeles has nothing. It's really hard to believe when you think about it. With everything that happened during Katrina, New Orleans and it's greatest fan base for a professional sports team ever still have the Saints. Thank you Tom and Rita. With the addition of DB, RB, SE and others...this team would be most welcome in SoCal, and I firmly believe that if Benson were so inclined and the NFL would let him, he could get a billion dollars for the Saints...yet they are still here. Every Saint fan should pat themselves on the back, because I truly think it is the fan base that kept them here. |
Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

Re: Back to where it all started
As has been pointed out many times in the press, the Saints have a special relationship with the city, and the entire Gulf Coast region. Aside from the Packers in Green Bay, there is nothing like it in professional sports. It is very amazing when you think about it, that Katrina did not drive the team away permanently. Saints fans need to be commended for their devotion (bordering on adoration) to the team.
