Before heading to New Orleans, Jamal Williams is visiting Denver Posted by Mike Florio on March 8, 2010 7:33 PM ET Free-agent defensive tackle Jamal Williams might not be leaving the AFC West, after all. Williams. cut last week by the Chargers, currently is visiting the Broncos, according to Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post. Broncos defensive line coach Wayne Nunnely served in that same capacity in San Diego from 1998 through 2008. In Denver, Williams presumably would rotate with Justin Bannan, whom the Broncos recently signed. Earlier today, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reported that Williams will be visiting the Saints. ![]() |

Re: Saints Hosting Jamal Williams
I'd take Little for a little more than the vets minimum. He's not the same dominant pass rusher as he was years ago, but he still can apply pressure to the quarterback in a situational role. As for as Williams is concerned, if he can make it out of Denver without signing a contract, even if he's old and coming off an injury year, I'd pay him a couple of mil to play opposite Ellis for a year or two if he can pass a physical.

Re: Saints Hosting Jamal Williams
jamal is better than what you think. sd defence was a lot worse without him. he demands a double team which would free up ellis. with him and else teams wont run up the middle. dont exactly know what his injury was or how he will cum back but he would help a ton more than you think. esp if he is used right. ellis and the line will be freed up alot. just cant over use him. if he comes cheap it would be a good pick up if healthy!

Re: Saints Hosting Jamal Williams
i wouldnt either. just saying for a year or two that jamal will help. even if we draft one he could teach as well as be in a rotation. in sd rivals denver want his as bad as i hear that ought to tell you something. they have played against him alot.

oh and all those games he played in.....he started during the saints rebuilding years from '06 to '09 williams has accounted for over 41 tackles per season......and thats including the only game he played last year against the oakland raiders in which he only had 3 tackles from a NT position usually you dont see that kind of production but the dude can play. to compare numbers, ellis has averaged 32 tackles per season and he has a lot more freedom as a 3-tech |
