keith bullocks
would anyone want him to come here? he has been very effective still! how bout a flier on bertran berry? im thinking no but maybe.
|
Re: keith bullocks
i just think he would cost too much. i dont think we could get him
but great player nevertheless |
Re: keith bullocks
do you think we could get any good sign and trade players. im still not sold on bush and think we could easily replace him with this draft or a free agent. what do you think his value is?

we have to focus on all of our free agents. in order to sign a free agent, we have to lose one of equal or greater value. i think thats why we are bringing in guys like leonard little and jamal williams sign and trade players are difficult to find as well because not only do you have to find a player to sign, you have to find a team that wants that player bad enough to give up somethin they already have this FA class isnt nearly as good as next year's class so i imagine teams will be trying to load up for next year as far as bush goes.....im not happy about his contract, but like someone mentioned....its not my money to decide i like him as a player because of his ability to make plays out of nothing. his punt return average was terrible this year but theres a reason for that......teams kept puntin to him because they knew he would try and return everything....but when teams punted to him they often kicked it higher than farther so the coverage would get down the field and he wouldnt get a big return reggie continues to break records for most receptions and reception yards for running backs and is well on his way to becoming the greatest receiving RB of all time.......but his running game leaves a lot to be desired |
Re: keith bullocks
just think at 32 we could get a back like jevid best which i dont think is a huge drop off. just wondered if we could trade him for a first which mite end up being better than jevid or trade for a good D player that would help us more.

if we draft a RB it wont be til later in the draft IMO jahvid best is one of the RBs this year that caught my eye....i thought he was the best RB coming out this year but CJ Spiller won that battle and now there are a few guys trying to climb the boards after their combine and pro day......i believe jahvid best will be there at 32, but im not sure the saints will value him higher than a DT or LB also....theres a guy coming out next year from WVU named noel devine he is a lot like reggie bush and he is projected in the mid rounds.....but he doesnt have the issues with fumbling......it'll be interesting to see where he lands next year |
Re: keith bullocks
i didnt mean to draft him unless we traded bush for a d player. i was thinking bush for a good DL or LB then fill his role with a lower priced free agent or draft someone like best. or if we got a high 2nd or 1st for bush we could still go for him and D.

perhaps then we might target a RB just because of our lack of depth who ru looking at for trade partners? |
Re: keith bullocks
that would have to depend on a team liking him to know that. i sometimes wonder if merriman would fit with us. he was a beast pre injury but dont think he would fit with us. i hear seatle likes him. the whole usc thing. maybe we could get a pick from them. they draft high so it would prob be an early 2nd. i just think bush is replaceable. we dont miss him when he is hurt and when he is there he is kinda soft. plus fumble problems. i do think he ran hard in the SB though. actually lowered shoulders insted of just running out of bounds.

Re: keith bullocks
how bout a team like KC. they want a rb. they dont like dt dorsey all that much and derrick johnson isnt fitting in the 3-4 very well. how about one or both and which would you want first? lots of people here wanted them both comming out of colledge. both fit our needs.

and with the uncertainty in reggie's health, its not very likely we will ever find a trade partner that will give us an early round pick....especially since they will be getting a running back who is really not a running back by definition and they could easily draft a starting RB in one of those early rounds who would probably be better than reggie at carrying the load |
Re: keith bullocks
so what do you think about my thoughts on KC?
|
Re: keith bullocks

im pretty sure they are content with jamaal charles at running back who averaged 5.9 ypc and only started 10 games but still managed to crack 1000 yards they might want a running back for depth, but most backup running backs wouldnt garner an early round pick and i think thats all reggie would be if he were to go to kansas city as for dorsey, many people want him because their fans of LSU as well but im not so sure he is struggling in the 3-4 as many people claim.....he averages 50 tackles per season and would have no problem playing DE in a 3-4 as for our needs at DT.....IMO we need a NT more than another DT......dorsey is listed as just under 300 lbs and he would not fill a need at nose tackle he is a good DT but would we want to use him as depth? he might start over ellis but what then? what would we do with ellis? |
Re: keith bullocks
how bout your thoughts on derrick? i just saw they were bringing in rbs. other teams might be philly pitt to complement mendenhall sf to complement gore to name a few that might look at a trade. you are probably right a pick might be out of the ? but a good player or two might not.

im not sure about pittsburgh because they are notorious for being a smash mouth football team and thats not exactly what i think of when someone mentions reggie bush philly is an interesting prospect.....they have done deals with us before......who ru looking at from philly? |
Re: keith bullocks
he was a first rounder a few years back that i wanted. this year wasnt as good because they went more to a 3 - 4 which he wasnt good at. ie vilma. they was letting him go but then put a tag on him. he isnt even a starter in their 3 - 4 scheme. i was just thowing out teams. let me look and see what i would do.

Re: keith bullocks
Derrick played at UT..and was really wanted by Saints fans on draft day..he's a good player..But we just gave up one just as good..
|
Re: keith bullocks
he is younger and i would say better at this point and goin forward. not sure philly has anything we would want that they would be willing to give up in the front seven. i think KC has a few up front that we would like. maybe SF. they have a few and not sure how they feel about them.
