Saints re-sign CB Torrence
The New Orleans Saints did not tender a qualifying offer to restricted free agent cornerback Leigh Torrence(notes).
But they still wanted him to return. The Saints made that a reality today when they re-signed the veteran cornerback to a one-year contract, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network. Torrence returns and provides the Saints with some depth in secondary as well as a solid special teams player. He appeared in only five games last season, mostly on teams, before a shoulder injury forced him to injured reserve in late November. Torrence had 10 tackles and one-half sack. La Canfora also reported that in their quest to do homework on available defensive linemen the Saints will bring in veteran end James Hall(notes) for a visit on Friday. Leonard Little(notes) and Jamal Williams(notes) were already reported to be visiting. Report: Saints re-sign CB Torrence - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |
