What they are saying about the World Champion New Orleans Saints: Payton no fan of overtime change
The Saints continue to prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft as well continue looking for potential free agents. Meanwhile, the annual NFL owners meeting is taking place in Orlando with one big change that already took place with a new overtime rule for the postseason.
Here is the buzz surrounding the Black and Gold this week: Mike Florio of NBC Sports talks about Sean Payton’s displeasure over the new overtime rule for that will be put in place for the 2010 NFL postseason. Florio quotes Payton per a Washington Post source that the Super Bowl winning coach said “That’s a taste you have in your mouth that’s bitter. Who is the best person to seek advice on how to win back to back Super Bowl titles? That would be New England head coach Bill Belichick since he was the last coach to do it in 2003 and 2004 with the Patriots. Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe said Sean Payton would welcome any advice the three time Super Bowl winning coach has to give him on defending a Super Bowl championship. Nicholas J.Cotsonika of the Detroit Free Press speculates what will happen with DT Anthony Hargrove and whether the Black and Gold will match any offer from the Detroit Lions should they sign him to an offer sheet. Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said they will use the April 15th deadline to their advantage on whether or now to sign Hargrove to an offer sheet. Andrea Adelson of the Orlando Sentinel talks about the Saints making golf legend Arnold Palmer an honorary member of the team Tuesday. The Saints are bringing in draft prospect Jared Odrick for a visit, according to NFL.com. Is the Penn State product a better fit at defensive end in a 3-4 scheme or a tackle in the 4-3 base defense used in New Orleans. Regardless, he is vying to be a first round selection. And TMZ.com covers all the Black & Gold bases with a Reggie-Kim update. They are splitsville, it seems. Although it was an amicable parting. Haven't they broken up before?
