zzzzzzzzzzz Agents
No poll, just looking for opinions:
Other than Fujita and Bell, there has been very little to report on the free agency front. Not only have the Saints not signed anyone, their RFA's have not exactly been headline news either, and no teams have reported talking to Grant or Sharper. There was an expectation that with an uncapped year there would an abundance of signings, but other than Peppers and few QB's, there hasn't been much action. The Saints have brought in Justin Fargas and some aging defensive lineman, but certainly no "must-have" players. Oh yeah, Adam Jones drove by the Superdome the other day also. So, what are your thoughts on why the NFL, and the Saints especially, have been so quiet this off-season? Is 'no-news' good news for Sharper? Any chance Grant will come back at a lower price? |

Re: zzzzzzzzzzz Agents
God, I hope not.
In all seriousness, though. With the amount of unrestricted and restricted free agents the Saints have, it has kind of hamstrung them waiting to see if the players are going to sign qualifying offers and those they are working on contract extensions with. Also, even though they have lost Bell and Fujita, the Final 8 Rule has limited them, as well. The free agent market isn't very deep, either, which hurts in signing anyone. There aren't many "must have" players out there. I think there may be more depth in talent in the draft than there is in the free agent market. Not experience-wise, of course, but athletes in general. |

I think is was Clayton that I heard say it, but it may have been some other talking head, but who ever it was they called it: A couple big names and then it's over. That's been the size of it really.
