The Alex Brown for Rob Sims trade rumor came and went pretty quickly, but the existence of such a rumor caused us to wonder what the Chicago Bears were planning to do with Brown.

That is no longer a mystery, as the released him on Thursday. The 31-year-old Brown will now attempt to land a job on the free agent market, but it might not take long.
