True story about Dolphin game...
It's the offseason and things are slow, so I thought I would share this story with you guys. It's kinda hard to believe.
I was born the youngest of four children, having 2 older brothers and a sister. My two older brothers are not very friendly to each other, as my oldest brother doesn't seem to be able to get along with anybody...me included. Anyway, after several years of not speaking to each other much and maybe an occasional email, the other brother reaches out to the oldest and invites him to come spend some time with him and go watch the Saints/Dolphins game that he just bought tickets for. Surprisingly to me, the oldest accepts the invitation and proceeds to travel from Tennessee to Florida. To say that he has a personality malfunction would be putting it mildly. So gameday comes around and they head out to the game. I suppose that I should point out at this time that the oldest is a bit eccentric if you haven't already figured that out. They get to the game early, because the other brother wants to watch them warm-up. Their seats are slightly off the 50 yard line and about 20 rows up...so they got pretty good seats. However, the oldest spots a couple of seats that are unoccupied at the end of the aisle and decides these would be better seats. The other brother doesn't want to move, but the oldest insists, and the other brother is trying to be a gracious host. I'm not sure exactly what happened next, but it had to do with them standing up in front of the people behind them and cheering with Saints gear on. The people tried to politely tell them that they were not allowed to change seats, but wouldn't mind it so much if they would just sit down and be quiet at least until the game starts. To make a long story shorter, it turns out that the older brother gets them both kiced-out of the game somewhere near the middle of the 2nd quarter. It turns out that one of the fans they moved in front of was very close to someone very high in the Dolphin organization, and she made one phone call and that was that. Can you imagine missing the 2nd half of that game after having paid 5 bills for 2 tickets? My other brother tried to downplay the whole thing, but a few days later he concocted a reason to invite the oldest to leave, so he did. You wouldn't believe the topic of that argument! Things are back to normal now. Nobodies talking to him anymore. |

Re: True story about Dolphin game...
I was at that game and also had a fist-fight break out in front of me:
Two guys, one in turqoise, the other in black & gold, went from shoving to punching. The Saints fan was removed, but allowed to come back in the third. OH YEAH, THE TWO GUYS WERE IN THEIR LATE 50'S, EARLY 60'S. It was quite the spectacle. I'm not going to comment on your brother- I am sure more than enough has already been said, and in a more appropriate place than a forum thread |

Re: True story about Dolphin game...
Oh yeah, guys...I forgot to mention one thing. I think the come-back by the Saints began the moment my brothers were booted. Somehow I sensed it...that they had left, that is.
When the other brother called me to tell me what happened, he started out by saying, "You'll never guess what happened." I said, "You left before the Saints came back?"...which I had already considered was possible since that game started out so ugly and they were in enemy territory. I was wondering if I would've left. He then proceeded to tell me the whole story...rather calmly, I might add. I knew something had to have happened to them for the Saints to have made a comeback like that. I never thought I'd say this but I...no, we all owe my brother a thanks for being such an a-hole and getting himself kicked-out...you know...butterfly effect? |
