Robert Mitchum, the late great actor was once asked what he thought of escalating salaries for actors, and if he thought it was fair to pay 100's of thousands of dlls (this was some time ago ) to actors just to "act", to what Mitchum replied "they don't pay us to act. Acting, we'd do for free; we love acting.. it is the waiting in the trailer they pay us for".

Of course, nowadays actors get paid not only for the filming of the movie and waiting in the trailer, but all the merchandising that goes with the release of a movie: the video game, the action figures, the clothing line, etc...

Reggie Bush is not being paid just to be a running back in the NFL. Owners like to win, sure, but owners like returns on their investments even more. I am sure Benson is expecting the 8 mil he's pouring into Reggie to return well over 8 mil to his pocket through other channels, and not just expecting his money to return stats.
