Not my opinion but im sick of trying to read posts and constantly being bombarded by a newby about Bush sucks and Bush is overpaid...here ya go..rant all you want abut #25::::::....enjoy

Its been said many times, but bush is a situational player who can cause multiple matchup problems. This is the type of player coach payton loves, some people may think he is overpaid. However what he adds to our offense makes me forget all about the money, hes a beast in the postseason, AND if he continues his style of play like he did late last season we will see a much more complete player. Backend of last season you could tell bush wanted to prove his worth, by lowering his shoulder not running out of bounds and finishing every run.
He is a compliment back, pierre thomas is clearly the starter but i'd rather have bush than have to play against him.

No he isn't. He was the 2nd pick of the draft. Reggie makes what a 2nd pick makes. Look at last years number 2 pick. It was an offensive lineman that signed for 12 mil per year. That's one tenth of the salary cap and he didn't even start.

He is overpaid for what he does. He is Percy Harvin or joshua Cribbs but makes 3 times as much.

That's just the way the NFL works. That's one of the reasons the owners want out of the current CBA. There needs to be some logic in the way players are paid.

Nobody knows if Russell is a bust or not. I'm not sure Tom Brady would be any good with a team as mired in confusion and mismanagement as the raiders. If you want to sign a 1st pick, you have to pay the money. That's just the way it works.

Again, using your logic no one is over-paid or under-paid. They signed their contract so thats what they're worth?

You are wrong this time, Danno. When they drafted him and paid him all the money, somebody somewhere must've said that he better deliver a ring. He may not have done it by himself, but the city has never seen a SB winning team that did not include Reggie Bush.

My sentiments exactly. Since we signed Reggie, we've been to the NFC Championship twice and won a Super Bowl. No, you can't give all the credit to Reggie or any other single player for that matter, but he has been an important player who has made some game changing plays (re: Arizona game). He's also a team leader and is the face of the Saints. I'm thrilled that absence of a salary cap has enabled him to be a Saint one more year.

He's the highest paid RB in the NFL, and he isn't even the best RB on his own team.

He's not a RB per se'. he's a player that can play almost any offensive skill spot and perform in it. I consider it a luxury to have him. As for overpaid the management doesn't think so, so I don't either.

We don't know what management thinks because its an uncapped year. If there was a salary cap this year, I'm pretty sure Bush wouldn't be making 8 million as a Saint in 2010.

Since there isn't a cap, over-paying him is fine for now.

Football is a team sport, no doubt about it. We could have won a super bowl without Bush, but Brees is another story. My feelings are that Bush can be awesome at times and nonexistent at others. The Saints can pay him 20 million a year for all I care, BUT, they had better shore up our defense. That's why so many people have a problem with what he makes. If we had all of our players resigned and filled all of our needs on defense, break the bank for all I give a damn, it's not my money. He plays a part in what we do on offense, but if you stop and think about it, with all the other weapons we have on offense. Do you really think that the Saints offense would disappear if we lost Bush.

I love Reggie Bush, and I don't care what anyone else says. It's not YOURS or anyone else's decision whether or not to keep him on the team. Mr. Benson and Mr. Loomis like him, and until that changes, all you haters are just going to have to SUCK IT UP and deal with him being on the team.

Just because you keep him another year doesn't mean he's not over-paid

And just because he's over-paid doesn't mean you release him, especially in an uncapped year.

He's over-paid AND I think its probably a good idea to keep him for another year, just like Payton and Loomis do.

I'd bet there are no more than 3 or 4 that would even consider him at 8 million in 2010, 12 million in 2010 and 13 million in 2012.

I don't think anyone pays that much for a scat back and an over-rated punt returner. Well, Oakland maybe, and Washington perhaps.
