I am very interested in the D-line this year. I really like the addition of Grady Jackson in the middle replacing La'roi Glover. Glover was just to small to handle the middle of the line against the run. He was a sack artist and I dont think we will miss him much. I rewatch the first 49ers game over and over and we lost that game because we couldnt stop the run up the middle. Willie Whitehead is no Joe Johnson, but I think he is a really good end. Darren Howard should have a better year with the Hand and Jackson getting double teamed. I think this is the season for a break out year for Willie. I think with Grady holding up the middle it will give the linebackers some room to make plays. The depth is probably the question marks on the ends. Overall I think Jackson, Hand, and Chase will plug up some of those gaping holes you saw for RB all of last year.

Actually, even with the loss of Johnson and Glover, the D-Line is the part of the defense that I\'m least worried about. Depth at the ends is a concern, but I feel pretty good about the line. I wish I felt good about the linebackers and secondary.

I belive that Grant will have Willy Whiteheads starting position before long, and that our dline is going to be as good as it has been in quite a while against the run. We may not get as many sacks from the DT position, but you can bet the pressure on the qb will be as good because our DEs will force most scrambling qbs up the middle, right at the big 700 lb wall of HAND and JACKSON/CHASE.

Untill Dale got suspended again, my only real worry was at LB. Hopefully they wont crusify Dale for having a .06 blood alcohol level and he will be back in the fold soon.
