Usama Young to Sign Tender

Posted on April 14, 2010 at 4:04 PM Updated today at 4:41 PM NEW ORLEANS ― Saints defensive back Usama Young will sign his tender, his agent confirmed Wednesday. The Saints tendered Young at $1.101 million and a third-round status and becomes the second restricted free agent to commit to the Saints on Wednesday. Fellow defensive back Chris Reis signed earlier in the day. Young will enter his fourth season with the Saints out of Kent State. He has 83 career tackles, 11 passes defensed and three interceptions. I only view Usama Young as a solid Special teams player, don't believe hes the future at safety.

That's why he's not being paid starter money. He's signed his tender as a backup/ST player, let's see if he makes it through camp.
I see us drafting another CB this year anyway. |

I went to Kent, so I really wanted to see him do well (we lived in the same dorm, 20 years apart).
I just don't think he has the tools. I'm fine with him at $1 mill a year. |
