Why do all these threads turn into Reggie Bush threads? It's Aaron Brooks 2.0 over here.

Here's what got my attention from the original post:
The Saints offered Thomas a one-year, $1.684 million qualifying contract last month.
Since we're discussing $ and RFA's then I have to wonder why aproven RB such as PT was offered 1/2 the amount of money that Sharper was allegedly offered? I'm no capologist. I stink at math in fact, but it seems to me that PT is worth at least the same amount as Sharper was offered (allegedly).

That's the tender offer, your main goal is to not spend more than you need to in order to keep some other team from signing the player to a qualifying offer. Since no team made such an offer, I would say the team was successful. They are working on a long term contract with him, and I think they will get it done.

I have no idea why people are concerned that the April 15 deadline has passed. That is a good thing.
