One of my pet peeves is "no way he'll be there when we pick", but this is one I feel pretty strongly about. He's probably the 2nd best RB in this draft after Spiller, so I doubt he's available at 64.

Although... NFLDRAFTSCOUT ( a fairly accurate site) has him as the 85th best player and the 7th best RB.

Hmmm. I'd absolutely love a PT/Gerhart combo in the backfield. We could trade or cut twinkle toes 2 seconds after the selection.

Now that I think about it, Ben Tate and PT would be awesome too.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

Payton LOVES Twinkle Toes.

Somehow Reggie hijacked yet another thread!

Re: Saints have needs as draft nears

You guys wanting to get rid of Reggie need to get over it!!!! He isn't going anywhere and rightfully so!!! The dude is a playmaker and when he is on the field we are that next snap away from putting six on the board from anywhere on the field!

Reggie makes our chances of winning another SB that much better....Why do some of you want to give that away????

I think some of you have to much of a "one track mind". If you would stop trying to imagine Reggie as something he is never going to be, which is a bruising down hill runner, and take him for what he is, which is an electrifying playmaker from anywhere on the field, you could then maybe realize what we have in him and appreciate him a bit more perhaps!

your exactly right ,reggie is part of a super bowl champion team that will stay together(offense) like it or not. him going anywhere else in the nfl and try and be any different type of back will turn in a totally embarrasing and probably a career ending season.

Absolutely! We don't have an offensive player that causes more headaches for opposing defensive coordinators than Reggie. He's not the only reason we won the Super Bowl this year but I don't think we would be drafting at #32 without him.

gerhart is the 2nd best running back? what about ryan matthews who had nearly 75 less carries and only 70 less yards rushing

what about jonathan dwyer who provides a valuable assett as a short yardage back and can handle a full load?

what about jahvid best, dexter mccluster and joe mcknight?

gerhart isnt better than any of them

I'm still not getting the idea that the Saints need a TE. Like RB, the Saints have some good options there. One could argue that every position on defense that isn't CB (man that's weird to state) could be upgraded before even thinking about any position on offense.

Yes I did. What a dope. I love Vilma.

saintsfan1976-
But depth at CB is needed.

Payton usually carries 4 TE's on the roster. We have Shockey, Thomas, Miller and... after that we drop off. As much as our coach uses the TE, I could see the need for another.
So which position needs more of an upgrade in your opinion, CB or TE?
