this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; A kicker or punter, as we've already got those positions filled. Anything else I can probably stomach....

Re: So with the draft days away..who would be the pick you would be most disapointed with?
Cody. Fat slob who ran the slowest time in combine history for a DL. No thanks.

Any punter for a 5th and a 7th. That would be stupid.

Loomis was joking while discussing the defending world champion's status with the approaching NFL draft, which begins Thursday night. But the joke underscored his overall approach, as he candidly acknowledged. Although Loomis indicated the Saints are looking more intently for defensive support, he also said developments over the last month have eased some of his concerns about the defensive line. Loomis made it clear the team would select an offensive player if he was the consensus best player available at that time. |

It would take a really off the wall pick to disappoint me. There are some areas where we could use an influx of youth, but BPA (non QB) works for me.
Most are against Cody it seems. I dont think he will develop into an elite player but as a one dimensional run stopper, I think he could fit into a niche in our defense. Cody in early to help stop the run and Hargrove in to rush the passer. |
