Do we really want to repeat?

Sitting here with my son..I know its late..lol..but we asked the question ..what was the main thing we needed to fix what was wrong with our team last yr...both of us said the same thing..FIX THE RUN D...now we might still do it via trade but come on..does it take a genius to figure that out..How can we let the whole draft basically go by and not get a good DT?..Flame me if you want ...but im really disappointed with the picks today..I can deal with the cornerback..but a TE and LT?....I really dont know what to say...I think if we would have got the DT we needed we might have been able to repeat..now i dont know..what a weird draft ..sorry just had to rant...ok flame away...lol

Re: Do we really want to repeat?

I don't think we want to just repeat. I think that we want to be constantly good. The great teams (Pitts, Indy, NE) use the draft to constantly replenish there talent regardless of position. You draft the best player period.

Pittsburgh draft Timmons and Woodley even though they already had Harrison, Foote, Farrior, and Haggans. They also drafted 2 more LB this year

Indy drafts Hughes, even though they have Mathis and Freeney, and drafted Gonzalez even though Harrison and Wayne.

NE constantly pick people that fit their system and make the most out of BPA.

****ty teams draft for need. The great teams always draft players that are values for where they are drafted who become great players.

The Saints are finally following that philosophy. After 40 years of doing things the wrong way can we be happy that we are finally doing it the right way. The right way won us the Superbowl. The wrong way won us 1 playoff game.

Draft BPA for that slot. Trade and sign FA for needs. Really simple.

I look at the drafting based on the "our window is closing philosophy" as an just an excuse to get away from your draft board. I think the team looks at the draft differently. It's all about value.

Your kidding right I wanna smash everyone for the next 5 years because we can. As long as we have our coaching staff and Brees I dont see why we cant.

Ill never doubt your fanhood buddy, Im just tellin you and everyone else that reads these boards ie. fans from other teams, that we will be a force to reckon with for the next 5 years so look out. Re: Do we really want to repeat?

I got to just sit back and let Loomis and Payton work their magic. I have faith in these guys after the past 4 years taking gambles and making moves the way they have got us a ring.

I look who they drafted now and every fits to what they have been doing. Sure maybe some gambles and some might say reaches but if you like the guy there and you vision what kind of player and how you can use him you take him.
