Draft rethink...
So is this what its like to be a world champion...
yes we have needs on our team but, are we going to take the New England route. Are we looking into the future at all turns. Might this be how a Dynasty is built? We are so accustomed to needing players on the field NOW that we don't know how to react to drafting for the future. Maybe as our team changes into a perennial NFL Power we as fans need to change our approach as well. Im not sayin'... Im just sayin' |
Re: Draft rethink...
Im all for that ..but we needed to address DT...thats all...then the bench picks..
|
Re: Draft rethink...
Woods from LSU or Anthony Dixon RB from Mississippi state
|
Re: Draft rethink...
I think when you draft last you can't afford to pass on good value picks.
You certainly can't "reach" for positions of need -- that's a recipie for disaster. |

Re: Draft rethink...
Whats so wrong about taking a DT?..dont you think we need one.. did you watch us get gashed in the run game?...we could have got one in the first and the went BPA...
And your entitled to that gay avatar...you picked it |
Re: Draft rethink...
I like the pick
Al Woods, LSU Height: 6-4. Weight: 307. Projected 40 Time: 5.12. Combine 40 Time: 5.12. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.98. Benchx225: 23. Vertical: 37. Projected Round (2009): 7-FA. 1/24/10: Rebounded with a half-decent senior campaign (33 tackles, 5.5 TFL). 2/14/09: Limited by a leg injury, Al Woods had just 11 tackles on the year. 5/9/08: Al Woods finally got his first start in October and he'll have more opportunities with Glenn Dorsey headed to Kansas City. He'll have to put his size and strength together and become a force on LSU's defensive line. |
Re: Draft rethink...
No Canton said we dont draft LSU guys

What? When you draft last, you won the SB. When you won the SB, you have a darned good team. When you won the SB and lost only 2-3 players, you still have a darned good team. On the contrary: when you have a SB winning team, that is the perfect time to "reach". |

LOL, no good teams continue to build for the future. That is what the draft is all about. If you want to get drawn into the hype that the draft is all about drafting heroes for the following season then believe whatever you want. |

So now the Saints are not a good team because they are not picking the players you or the network talking heads say are the ones the Saints should be picking? If you want to be a condescending know-it-all, at least work on it. Don't reach. |

Okay, so now it is my turn ----- what? Seriously, it's begining to sound like we are having two differnt conversations here. I have not been critical of a single pick. Nor have I whined because we passed on a player. Your comment makes no sense. |

I am not the one who is whining about the picks -- that's you. |

Hell, I wouldn't try to defend his comment either. It makes no sense. I don't think you are hungover, I think you are drunk. |

That's fine, based on your posts since this draft started I really do not value your opinion. You may resume your whining now. |

u are on a roll my friend. One day I will take you up on your beer offer...Dixie of course! btw; like you, I was scratching my head with the Saints picks...but have come to understand. The perspective around the league is the Saints do not like to pay top $$$$$ to OL. They select and rotate (i.e. look for J. Brown to be elsewhere this year). We will see how this league perspective works with J. Evans now, and Nicks in the not too distant future. BI |

You started a thread title, "Do we really want to repeat?" Sounds like whining to me. And if you are not trying to make this personal why keep up with the insults? Throwing in a jab while demanding that yours be the last word sounds a little childish. Let's just talk football or not talk at all. |
