Re: So do we trade for Jamarcus Russell
If one would choose to look at the question from a serious perspective; would we trade for him? No. Can he be salvaged? Yes.
Russel never was really good att LSU, he won a lot of games but that was more due to the supporting cast then his own play. Drafted by the most dysfunctional franchise the last 10 years playing first for Lane Kiffin who really has not produced anything of substance as a coach but somehow manages to sell himself as part of a package. Then playing for Tom Cable who don't really like Russel and wouldn't have played him if Al davis had not insisted. Not a great start to an NFL career. I would say he hasn't been properly coached since highschool, I mean when was the last time you saw a really good QB come out from LSU? Still he has huge upside. His physical tools are off the charts with an arm like a howitzer. Part of the problem is that he was not ready to be a leader in Oakland and they didn't have a lot other. The best for his career would actually be to end up with a team like the Saints that has an established QB he could sit behind and learn from. Payton could coach him up, after all, he managed to get more than 3000yds from Quincy Carter in a season. |
W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Re: So do we trade for Jamarcus Russell
Jamarcus IMO never really asserted himself. I understand Oakland is a pure dump, but I mean he really looked terrible last year. I am not sure he can be salvaged. Oakland almost has to release him at this point, I am sure he will get a second chance. If he gets his weight down and really plays and studies hard, he could rebound. I am not convinced he will. The way it's looking is he will be out of football very soon. Very horrible considering the tools this man possesses...
