My bad...
I should have said two 5's! Damn folks; 55 points? Un-freakin' believable. I can't wait to hear from BillyCarpenter..... Lawd, lawd, lawd.... I assume that Haz will finish the season out? But if a change is made, I wouldn't be surprised or shocked. I don't understand it at all.... I suggest once and for all that everyone stop bashing on Brooks, because the hit I saw him take on SUNDAY, proves at least he has balls. He was planted into the ground from a hit that he never saw coming.... He wasn't the same after that hit. That game was a total and complete breakdown. Stallworth - Too many drops. Horn - Too many words. Duece - Semi-redemped himself after a poor outing against the Titans. Ki Jana Carter - Looked good, but he was running against a relaxed defense. Almost like pre-season game if you will... Conwell - rebounded nicely after a shaky start. The defense - What defense? Who's the D-coordinator for the Saints and why didn't he put some help on Fred Thomas' side? Why do I know Fred's name? Because he was running behind Harrison all night...... Lawd, lawd, lawd... When is your BYE week, or has it passed???? MY BAD - I didn't mean to say PASS ----- TOUCHDOWN!!! 6 of 'em! |

Not really Un-freakin\' believable. I didn\'t post all of last week because this match-up had disaster written all over it. A pass-happy team with all the weapons and a Peyton Manning who was getting into the flow in week 3 against this Saints defense - it smelled awful. Giving up six pass TDs is a remarkable feat. Didn\'t expect that, but I expected four.
Next week\'s match-up looks a lot better. |

Who or where do you start first?
Do you make changes immediately or do you ride it out? |

That\'s a tough call. I think it would be better to go ahead and ride it out this year, and see who is availiable at the end of the year. I don\'t remember any coahing staff changes being successful that were made during the season.
I think the players have lost all confidence in the coaches, so I wouldn\'t be opposed to changing coaches now. It\'s going to be very intersesting to see how this all shakes out. |

If a change is made, say from HAZ....
You would assume that someone already a part of the organization would come to the forefront for the remainder of the season? But do you have someone on the bench that can step up and get production from the players? It\'s hard in football, to make a middle of the season change unlike baseball.... I agree, I think the players have lost confidence in their leader. Even still, somewhere in the midst of all of this, a player has to step up to the plate and be held accountable for some of the failures of this team. Too much is happening right now to leave 1 person out to dry.... Tons of ego need to be checked in at the door in this one.... I can remember joking with you in the pre-season. But its starting to look like week 9 could be a meaningless game for you, if things don\'t shape up right now... The Saints need to put a string of wins together IMMEDIATELY, or its over..... Because despite this horrible start, it aint over.... You are going into the 2nd quarter now.... Needless to say you are trailing. |

Buc,
There is only one person who should be held accoutable for this team and that is JIM HASLETT. He hired his assistants and got the players he felt he needed. He now has to live with those decisions. The only hope Haslett has is if he gets rid of Venturi and gets someone who actually knows how to coach a defense. I don\'t see that happening !! I don\'t have the answers and don\'t pretend to. Things like this are difficult for an orginization to deal with at the end of the season much less during the season. I do know that Haslett is going to have to do something DRASTIC to turn things around this season. To me the only pratical thing to do would be to change the assistant coach(s) or get more involved with the offense and defense himself. There is no magic solution or no light switch to flip on to correct this team. Everyone on this team needs to do a lot of soul searching and do whatever needs to be done!! |
